Child Abuse by Young Mothers

     The number of young mother who abuse their children has increased in recent years. There are some reasons why they abuse their children. Most mothers who abuse their children are too young, so they don’t know how to raise children. In addition, some mothers can’t love their children because they don’t want to have children, but they were pregnant. The others are abused when they were children, so they do same things to their children. Now, child abuse is big issue in Japan, because it affects children’s lives greatly. It will give mental stress to children, so they became to close their heart, and some of them harm friends at school or others. In addition, if the abuses escalate, they would be broken not only their heart, but also their bones, and they would be even killed. There are three possible solutions to prevent child abuse by making laws to punish abusing parents, providing more training for mothers, and creating support networks.
     First, creating new lows and improving old lows for punishing parents who abuse their kids will make more parents think twice about their action. If they break they should pay strict punishment, for example, paying a lot of fine, putting in prison, being dispossessed their fortune, living away from their kids, and so on. All of these punishments are too strict, but these are suitable to reduce abusing parents. It is important that government inform the new lows to parents to reduce child abuse. There are various ways to inform, by TV commercials, radio, advertisements at stations, newspapers, and so on.
     Providing more training for abusing parents is good way to teach parents how to communicate with their kids. Mothers can learn the importance of children’s rights to live, so they don’t hurt their children. They can also learn how to scold their kids, praise them, and love them. For mothers who abused children, it is offered the rehabilitation not to abuse their children again. In addition, mothers can take counseling if they were abused by their parents. By these trainings, they understand the importance of kids, so they don’t treat their kids badly.
     To create support networks is best solution to prevent child abuse. Society should make hot lines around the clock. If mothers can talk someone about their kids, abusing would decrease. To establish consultation center and day care center is also good way. They can talk with counselor whenever they have question about their parenting. The easiest and best way to prevent abusing is helping each other and raising children with cooperation. Mothers should not raise children by themselves, they should raise children with husbands, their parents, neighbors. Mother doesn’t need to pile up problems of parenting.
     There are some possible ways to prevent child abuse that becomes big issue in Japan; make new laws to punish abusing parents, give mothers trainings, and create support networks. These three ways are beneficial for prevent child abuse, and mothers can love their children.

Working part-time while Being at School

     In recent years, most young people who are going to schools work part-time. It is said that about 78.3% of college students work part time. They take various jobs, like waiters or waitresses, tutors, sales clerks and so on. Without regard to the jobs, there are several effects of working part-time while being at schools, neglecting studying, getting money, and having precious experiences.
     Working part-time while students are at school has negative effects, that students neglect studying. Students who work part time have less time to study at home than students who don’t work, because they have to spend time on working. In addition, they become tired after work, so they can’t study however they want to. Part time jobs influence not only homework, but also schoolwork. By the research in 2003, it is shown that students who work part-time attend classes less than student who don’t work, and more hour they work, less hour they attend classes. As a result of part-time job, they neglect studying and attending schools.
     However there are negative effects that students who work part-time neglect schoolwork, there are positive effects of working part-time. First positive effect of working part-time is that students working part-time can get a lot of money. Due to hard work, they can get much money than students who don’t work. The money is their own money because they get it by themselves, so they use the money as they want. There are also good effects of working part-time about money. They can understand the value of money. Most of them were given pocket money by their parents before work, but they can’t understand the value because they get money for nothing. After experiencing working, they know how hard to getting money is. For this reason, they know the value of money.
     The most important effect of working part-time is to experience valuable things that schools don’t teach. To work part-time means to join the circle of society. In this environment, they communicate with adults and work together. They can learn many things from these adults. Due to this experience, they can be members of society. In addition, they can learn the importance of work by part-time job. They responsible for their jobs however they are part-time worker. It is easy to quit job or be absent from work, but they can’t because of their responsibilities. Due to this experience, they can learn the importance work and importance of being adult.
     There are both positive effects and negative effects to working part-time job while students are at schools. Students can experience important things that they can’t learn at school, so it connects to their growth. The most important thing when they work part-time is to be careful not to neglect schoolwork.

Going Shopping or Shopping on the Internet

　　　　　In recent years, we can do anything on the internet by the progress of computer technology. Now, shopping on the internet became popular in Japan, and I can’t decide weather I go shopping or shop on the internet when I have something to buy. Both going shopping and shopping on the internet have advantages and disadvantages, so I’d like to compare these tow ways of shopping in some points, and define which is better.
     First, I compare going shopping and shopping on the internet in cost points. First of all, most goods are priced the same price, and the costs of shopping are also the same.
If you go shop, you need travel expenses, and if you shop on the internet, you should pay postage. Both way of shopping cost almost the same, but if you want to shop something cheaper, you should use internet. By using internet, it is easy to compare the price of goods, so you can buy the goods cheaper.
     Then, the convenience of shopping is also important. While going shopping need time, shopping on the internet doesn’t need time, we can shop as we are home. In addition, we should carry heavy baggage and will be tired if you go shopping, but the goods are delivered if you shop on the internet. However shopping on the internet is more convenient, we can talk with clerk when we go shopping, and ask nice coordinates.
     The safety is the most important point of shopping. You can check the goods weather there aren’t dirt or scratches. In contrast, you should check by pictures and can’t check original goods. In addition, you can know who is seller when you shop in the store, but you can’t know shopping on the internet. When we buy something in the store, trouble won’t happen so often. On the other hand, there are some troubles shopping on the internet, such as fraud, post accident, leak of personal information and so on.
     In conclusion, after thinking everything into consideration, I think shopping in the store is better than shopping on the internet. However shopping online is very convenient, the safety is not sure. The most important thing when we buy something for me is safety, so I will choose to go shopping when I have something to buy.

Social Trends in Japan

 Recently, there is a drop in the birth rate. In 1971, when the declining birth rate hadn’t started yet, the birth rate was about 2.16. In 2006, the rate was about 1.32. It is said that the declining birth rate started in the latter half of 1970s, and the rate decreased about 40% for recent 35 years. The level that we can keep the population is 2.07, so if the birth rate keeps decreasing, Japanese population would diminish greatly. Japan’s declining birth rate is a resulting of three main things; changing in women’s role, an increase in low income groups, and the bad environment for child raising.

The most important reason of the declining birth rate is changing in women’s role. Recently, women can get more important positions in company than before. They satisfy in their job, and they hesitate to quit their job for child raising. In family, women’s role also changes in recent years. In the past, it was thought that women should be housewives and support their husband, but now, women also work and get money. Then, women advance to the political world. In those days, most of politician was men, but now, women flourish and be supported greatly by women.

The second reason why the birth rate decreased is an increase of low income groups. To raise children, it takes a lot of money. However they want to have children, they can’t have children because of economical problem. And then, child raising requires wide space. Japanese apartment’s rent is so expensive, so they can’t live large room enough to raise children. Child raising also needs a lot of time. Mothers should rest their work before and after bearing baby, but they can’t have long vacation because they should get money.

The other reason is the bad environment for child raising. There is lack of preschool. Most mother want their children to enter in preschool, but they can’t. Mothers should take care of their children by themselves, and they don’t want to have many children. Nowadays, most couple doesn’t live with their parents, and doesn’t have relationship with neighbors, so they can’t ask anyone how to raise children when they are in trouble.

In conclusion, the drop in the birth rate causes these three reasons; changes in women’s positions, a low income not enough to raise children, and Japanese bad environment of child raising. However some of them who don’t have children want to have children, they can’t have because of these reasons.

My Golden Week 2

 I enjoyed my golden week from May 3 to 6.

 On May 3, I went shopping with my mother. First, we went to Mujirushi-ryohin to buy new wardrobe because my wardrobe was too small to store all clothes. Then, we went to department store, and I got mother to buy lotion. Soon afterword, we went to supermarket and bought groceries for dinner. On May 4, I worked as waitress at wedding parties so long time. There were about 10 parties, and I worked for 2 parties. It was too hard, but after part-time job, we went to bar and drunk all night. On May 5, I also worked. this day was not so hard, but I was tired because I didn’t sleep well. As soon as finishing my work, I went home soon and sleep. On may 6, I worked too. This day was not hard too, so I could work happily. After work, we held drinking party for our boss, because he quited his job at that day. First, we went to bar and drunk a lot. Then, we moved to karaoke box, and made up a racket all night. It was so happy, but I felt I was too old to stay up all night.

Finally, studying new cultures will affect my life. By studying different cultures, we know there are many people who have different mind, and we can broaden our view. The experience that meet new cultures is a chance to chanthat ge our mind. I think it’s important for us not to have a provincial point of view. I think it is a chance to have broad view by moving other place.

My Golden Week

     On the golden week, I haven’t decided what to do, but maybe I’ll go part time job. I work at a hotel, and golden week is one of the busiest time, so I can’t be absent from work. I have about 50 colleagues, and we are so close. We often take drinking party after work, so I think we may drink on the golden week.

     If I have a free day, I want to go to Universal Studio Japan. I bought a year passport, but I couldn’t go this year because I was too busy in job hunting. I think there are no employment examination on golden week, so I wanna go!
